**This is the second guest post from Rick Mahn and Albert Maruggi as they take a Social Media Breakfast Roadtrip to SXSW, sponsored by Tungle.me.**
Social Media Breakfast - Minneapolis/St. Paul (smbmsp) road crew of Rick Mahn and Albert Maruggi are well on their way to Austin for SXSW. With two tweet ups in Des Moines, IA and Omaha, NE under their belt, the next leg will take them to Kansas City this afternoon and Wichita tomorrow.
The meet up in Des Moines at the Racoon River Brewery was great, a smaller turnout, but the venue and conversation was great! Thanks to Mike Templeton for the interview and everyone there for a warm Iowa welcome. By the way, Racoon River was a very nice place if you're passing through.
In Omaha this morning, we were treated with a nice blanket of heavy, wet snow! I'll have pictures up soon, but it made the driving around Omaha quite slippery and messy this morning. We've got a little video of "sxsw" message on the back window of the car too. Omaha's been a great visit, and we enjoyed our stay with folks this morning at the Caffeine Dreams coffee shop.
The trip so far has been a lot of fun, but is going by very fast. One thing that's helped out greatly has been the ability to set up meetings with the on-site coordinators using Tungle.me. With all our free time shared in Tungle, we didn't waste a lot of time with emailing availability - a great help on short notice for us getting things done for this trip.
So, we're about an hour out of Kansas City, and we've got a couple dozen folks who are planning on meeting up with us when we get to the Kansas City Cafe there. More details as we have wireless connectivity and our batteries hold out!
